What is Claude?

Claude is an AI assistant and a family of AI models made by the American AI company Anthropic. You write to Claude in English, Danish or most other languages, and it reads, writes, analyses and codes, and it can work directly in the systems you give it access to. You can use it free on claude.ai, pay for Pro from 20 USD a month, or give a whole team access with Team or Enterprise.

A task goes in and three kinds of result come out. The third, an action in your own systems, is the one most people do not know Claude can do.

What Claude does in a company

Most people meet Claude as a chat window, and that is the least interesting part of it. What moves hours in a company are the three other ways to use it.

Projects. A project is a space in Claude with your own documents, price lists, templates and rules. Claude reads them before it answers, so a quote or an email starts from the way you do things and not from zero. On the Team plan a project can be shared, so a whole department works from the same knowledge.

Connectors. Claude can be connected to tools like Google Drive, Gmail, Slack, HubSpot and Notion. It then looks things up in your own data and puts the result back, instead of you copying between windows.

Claude Code and Cowork. Claude Code writes and fixes code in a real project. Cowork lets Claude take a task in several steps across your files and tools. This is where Claude goes from answering to doing.

Underneath it all is a family of models in different sizes, from the large ones that think longest to the small ones that answer fastest and cheapest. For most office work you do not have to pick one yourself.

How much does Claude cost?

Claude is free to try. Pro costs 20 USD a month for one person, Team costs 25 USD per seat a month from two seats, and Enterprise costs 20 USD per seat a month billed annually plus usage, from 20 seats. All prices exclude VAT.

What the plan does not do for you

  • Which data Claude may see, and which must never go in.
  • Projects with your own templates, prices and tone, so answers do not start from zero.
  • One person who owns the setup, and two weeks where you measure whether the hours actually come back.

Is Claude better than ChatGPT?

For most work in a company the two are close, and the honest answer is that the difference is rarely the model. It is the setup: which documents it knows, which systems it can reach, and whether anyone owns it.

I only build on Claude, so read my answer with that in mind. I choose Claude for three reasons. It writes Danish that sounds like a person and not like a translation. In my work it stays closer to the documents I give it. And it is built to work in your systems through connectors and Claude Code, not only to answer in a chat window.

If you already have ChatGPT across the company and a setup that works, it is rarely worth switching for its own sake. If you are choosing for the first time, try both on a real task from your own week, not on a demo question.

Why I only work on Claude →

What Claude does not do by itself

Claude is a tool, not a project. It does not know how you write quotes, which customers may be named, or which data must never leave the building, until someone sets that up.

That is where most pilots stall. The licences are bought, nobody owns the setup, and three weeks later two people use it. That is the part I take care of.

Questions about Claude

What is Claude AI?

Claude AI is the same thing as Claude: Anthropic’s AI assistant and the models it runs on. People often add "AI" to the name to make clear what they are searching for. You use it on claude.ai, in the desktop and mobile apps, or through Anthropic’s API if it is to be built into your own systems.

How much does Claude cost?

There is a free plan. Pro costs 20 USD a month, or 17 USD a month billed annually. Team costs 25 USD per seat a month from two seats, and Enterprise 20 USD per seat plus usage from 20 seats. For a team of ten that is about 250 USD a month on Team, excluding VAT.

Is Claude free?

Yes, there is a free plan on claude.ai. It is good for trying it out, but it has a lower usage limit, up to five projects and no Claude Code. If you use Claude every day at work you hit the limit quickly, and Pro is the next step.

Does Claude speak Danish?

Yes. Claude reads and writes Danish, and you can write to it in Danish from the first message. I write my own Danish articles together with Claude. What makes the Danish good is the same as in English: examples of your own tone in a project, so it does not have to guess.

Is my data used to train Claude?

On Team and Enterprise your data is not used for training by default. On Free, Pro and Max you control it yourself under model improvement in the privacy settings, so check that setting before you put anything confidential in. Personal data about customers belongs in a Team or Enterprise setup with a data processing agreement.

Is Claude better than ChatGPT?

For most office work the two are close, and the difference is more often the setup than the model. I only build on Claude, because it writes natural Danish and is built to work in your systems. If you have a ChatGPT setup that works, it is rarely worth switching for its own sake.
